According to a UK Treasury report, PFI: Strengthening long term partnerships, published in March 2006, PFI had delivered over 500 operational projects, including:
The report notes that there are currently around 200 projects with a capital value of £26 billion in the procurement pipeline to 2010.
Research shows that 80% of all users of PFI projects are always or almost always satisfied with the service being provided.
Performance under PFI contracts has also been consistently high over time with around 90% of PFI projects performing satisfactorily or better in every year since 1998.
In October 2007, HM Treasury published statistics on the numbers and values of PFI projects signed up to that date. The results of this are detailed below:
